Collaborate with the world in designing a project.

It has been said that a giraffe is a horse designed by a committee. Design by committee has a horrible reputation as generating unworkable solutions that satisy no individual committee members. Many are, in fact, abhorrent to ALL committee members, but somehow the committee cannot seem to get off the disasterut track once it gets on it. I would propose that, handled correctly, collaborative design can act as an "efficient market" for design that can result in the application of a seemingly infinite amount of intellect and experience to an idea or project resulting in years or decades of difficult experience being removed from the process. Why learn the hard way when you can collaborate with someone who already has?

There are few things in the world that have not been tried, imagined or just thought about by someone. Getting the experience of the world applied to you project may be just the edge your project needs for success.
